Illahe Vineyards - Dallas, OR (Visuals)
As we pulled up to Illahe, we were greeted by our hostess who directed us on where to park- it was clear they had their hands full with harvest, but we're happy to host our group of 7.
We were able to experience the amazing vineyard views on the patio until the rain kicked in. Since Illahe's tasting room is in the process of being built, we ended up having our tasting in an ominous cave that is built right into the countryside. How cool is that?!
Illahe offers a sparkling wine, "cap fizz" to kick off their flight ($20 price point... very affordable & extremely tasty!). After the entry taste of bubbles, we worked through several Pinot noir wines including one with a very special story.
This Winery has a very unique project called the 1899 project. From harvest to delivery, this wine is produced solely by man and horse power. This was a favorite of the group, several of us took a bottle home to show off to our friends and family. The story has been told over and over again in conversation since our visit.
Impressive!! We were so moved by the storytelling of this project and if you have yet to experience this flight, I highly encourage making the trip down to Dallas to pay them a visit. Illahe opened their NEW tasting room in Spring of 2023 and they are excited to welcome guests, please contact them ahead of time to make sure they are able to accommodate, and enjoy your visit!!
